Every program is designed to be developmentally appropriate. We meet kids exactly where they are and invite them to reach a little further.

Zoom to the Moon!Get ready for an out-of-this-world experience! Zoom to the Moon is a playful, imagination-filled camp designed especially for preschool explorers. Each day, children blast off into learning as they discover the wonders of space through hands-on activities, creative play, music, movement, and lots of pretend astronaut fun.
Participants must be potty-trained and should bring a change of clothes and a blanket for rest time. Additionally, please provide a refillable water bottle, as well as a snack and lunch each day.

Bounce and Ball!Come have a ball at camp! Bounce and Ball is all about movement, play, and plenty of giggles. Campers will jump into a mix of classic “ball” sports—like soccer, basketball, and kickball—and explore fun, non-traditional ball activities, too!
Throughout the week, our campers will enjoy:

This camp is conducted by State Championship Coach Micah Higgins and his baseball staff, who run a championship program. Camp will be a half day of baseball instruction, skills competitions, game play, and fun at Highland's newly renovated baseball complex. Highland School's coaching staff, along with current and former players, will offer instruction on throwing fundamentals, fielding, hitting, pitching, and base running. All campers will receive hands-on individual instruction as well as participate in small group games and competitions. Step into the shoes of a real-life detective at Camp CSI, where science meets mystery! Campers will investigate thrilling “crime scenes” using hands-on experiments in chemistry, biology, and physics to uncover the truth. From fingerprint and footprint analysis to DNA candy extractions and pH testing “mystery substances,” each day brings a new case to solve. COURSE DESCRIPTION: This class is an introduction to psychology, the science of behaviors and mental processes. This is an introductory class and is meant to expose students to a variety of psychological topics and to get them actively thinking about how their brain impacts their ability to function physically, emotionally and socially. For students who are interested in continuing on to AP psychology, this course will be a solid introduction to basic terminology, key theorists and major concepts, preparing them to continue on to the AP level.
COURSE EXPECTATIONS: This course will cover the same material that would be taught in a semester-long class. Thus, the pace will be fast and the workload intense. Students must attend all 60 hours of the class—being present and fully participating in person—in order to receive credit. Students should expect at least one hour of homework nightly in addition to time spent studying for tests and quizzes. The course will culminate in a final test that will sample from the entirety of the content presented.
DATES AND TIMES: M-F, 9am-2:30pm, July 6-21; 30 minutes for lunch included in the day.

Mrs. Murphy graduated from The George Washington University with a B.A. in Criminal Justice and a B.A. in Psychology; she has also earned an M.Ed. from Western Governors University. She has been teaching Psychology, Sociology, and Criminal Justice at Kettle Run High School for 18 years. Most importantly, she is the proud parent of two Highland Hawks, Amelia ‘27 and Mickey ‘28.

Enrichment Camps
Driver Education
This course is approved by the State of Virginia. The classroom portion is half of the state’s requirements to complete the driver’s education program. This course is only the classroom portion. This class is fast-paced to cover all the material. This class is a TWO-WEEK CLASS to meet the State of Virginia hour requirements for certification. The student who successfully completes this course will receive a certificate that is good for three years. If you are concerned about the pace, volume of information, or have any questions about this class, you should reach out to Gary Leake, our Athletic Director, who manages the Driver's Education Program.
The second half of the state’s requirement is behind-the-wheel training. That course is separated into two areas: 40 hours of practice with parents and 14 lessons of in-car instruction with a certified instructor. Community Service Camp (FULL DAY)
Make a difference in your community! Each day, Highland will partner with a local community organization to work on a hands-on project to help further the mission of the organization. Campers will also learn about the everyday work of the organizations we serve to understand the larger social issues they address. Projects may include planning and running activities for the Fauquier FRESH on Wheels Summer program, planting and gleaning produce at the Fauquier Education Farm, and Fauquier FISH with their efforts to combat food insecurity in the local community. This camp is open to all rising Grade 9-12 students. Students will earn 17.5 hours toward the annual service requirement.June 22 - June 26, 2026

Advanced Tennis
Tennis camp covers 5 days of conditioning, agility, strength, and core exercises. Join Highland Coach Paola Riccetti to work on advanced tennis drills, including placement, drop shots, lobs, strategy, and competitive play. Algebra Boot CampMath students who have taken Algebra I and who plan to take Geometry or Algebra II in the fall are encouraged to take this week-long summer course to help them rediscover the skills learned in Algebra I. The topics to be practiced include solving linear equations, simplifying radicals, multiplying polynomials, and factoring quadratic trinomials. This course is not for credit. Students must have completed Algebra I and be enrolled to take Geometry or Algebra II in the upcoming year.August 17 - August 20, 20269:00 AM - 11 AM
