Living Our Mission: Highland Leadership Teams Up with Fauquier FISH
At Highland, our mission extends far beyond our campus gates—it’s rooted in showing up for the broader community we call home. This August, members of Highland’s leadership team traded their office desks for warehouse tables, spending an afternoon volunteering with Fauquier FISH to support local students as they prepare for the new school year.
The team rolled up their sleeves to assist with Fauquier FISH’s Book Bag School Supply (BBSS) program, which has been equipping local children in need with essential learning tools for over two decades. Working together in a massive logistical effort, the Highland team helped sort, account for, and organize backpacks and custom supply packs tailored to specific grade levels and school requirements across Fauquier County.
These efforts were part of a milestone year for the BBSS program. On August 8, Fauquier FISH—powered by more than 170 community sponsors and 70 dedicated volunteers—distributed a staggering 1,603 book bags to local families for the 2026–2027 school year.
Highland’s leadership was honored to support this vital community effort, helping ensure that every student in Fauquier County walks through the classroom doors on day one equipped with the tools, confidence, and excitement they need to succeed.
