Fred Blackburn is rejoining the board, having previously served two terms as a trustee while his three boys were attending Highland - Trent ’17, Kyle ’17, and Gavin ’21. He served as the Chair of the strategic planning committee and helped move the Personalized Learning Program forward. He also served as parent co-chair of the Annual Fund for two years. Over the last year, he has served in an advisory capacity in support of Highland’s next Strategic Plan.
Fred is a retired Partner and Executive Vice President at Booz Allen Hamilton with over thirty years of experience in providing management and technology consulting across the federal government (intelligence, defense, and civil agencies) and commercial clients. While at Booz Allen he also established the firm’s Strategic Innovation Group and ran the firm’s AI and Cyber business lines.
He has a B.S. in Finance (with an Economics minor) from Virginia Tech and an M.B.A. from George Washington University. He and his wife, Michelle, reside in Aldie with their Labrador Retriever - Winston.
