SUMMER PROGRAMS AT HIGHLAND

Highland School’s Summer Programs provide a safe and supervised environment that stimulates creativity and fosters participation. Our programs emphasize friendliness and cooperation and encourage students to be their best.
We offer summer programs for students from Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade that are fun, safe, and educational. At Highland School, we provide enriching, challenging, and fun activities that incorporate a wide variety of developmentally appropriate activities, including free play and outdoor time for our younger campers.

We create and foster a choice-oriented and child-centered program while maintaining a healthy, caring, and relaxed atmosphere. And remember, you don't have to attend Highland School to take part in our great camps, enrichment, and college preparation programs. Click on any of the expanding boxes below to learn more about the camps we'll be offering for the summer of 2025.

    Driver Education
This course is approved by the State of Virginia. The classroom portion is half of the state’s requirements to complete the driver’s education program.  This course is only the classroom portion. This class is fast-paced to cover all the material.

This class is a TWO-WEEK CLASS to meet the State of Virginia hour requirements for certification.  The student who successfully completes this course will receive a certificate that is good for three years. If you are concerned about the pace, volume of information or have any questions about this class you should reach out to Gary Leake, our Athletic Director who manages the Driver's Education Program.

The second half of the state’s requirement is behind-the-wheel training. That course is separated into two areas: 40 hours of practice with parents and 14 lessons of in-car instruction with a certified instructor. Additional information and registration forms for the second portion will be distributed during the classroom session.
