Coach Rick Ashley
Head Coach, Boys Varsity Soccer
Coach Ashley has more than twenty years of coaching experience and he currently holds a USSF B License. He has coached locally for Fauquier High School and FCSC where he has served on their board of directors. He is presently employed full time as the Fauquier County Engineer and Coach Ashley his BS from David Lipscomb University and his BSE from the University of Tennessee. 

Coach Ashley’s coaching philosophy includes: “focus on playing for a higher purpose than winning, focus on training to the very highest standard and focus on having great physical and moral character skills.”

Dr. Gustavo Tisera
Assistant Coach, Boys Varsity Soccer 

Coach Tisera most recently was the head soccer coach at Wakefield Country Day School where he won the DAC D II Coach of the Year award, six times. Coach Tisera will be teaching Spanish in our upper school and he is a native of Argentina. He holds dual master degrees from James Madison University in Spanish Language and Culture for Educators and Teachers of Spanish. 

Coach Tisera is very excited to join the Highland faculty and coaching staff!

Coach Kristen Conques
Head Coach, Girls Varsity Lacrosse

Head Coach, Girls Varsity Field Hockey
Kristen Conques is a native of Fairfax. She attended Christopher Newport University and received a B.A. in Early Childhood Psychology with a minor in Philosophy and Religious Studies. Conques captained the lacrosse team to the program’s first two Conference Championships and its first two NCAA appearances. By her senior year, Coach Conques held five school records, was 1st Team All-conference all four 4 years, was named to the All-Region, All-State, All-Academic Teams, and was the first player from the program asked to participate in the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Associations North/South All Star Game.

Coach Conques was been with Highland School since 2010 working in Pre-K, 4th and 5th grade Sports, head coach for Girl’s Lacrosse, and assisting in Field Hockey. She has also served as a Head Coach for Cardinal Lacrosse Club since 2008.

Coach Reynolds Oare '00
Head Coach, Girls Varsity Soccer

Coach Reynolds Oare is the Head Varsity Girls' Soccer Coach. He has been at Highland School since the Fall of 2008. His primary goal is to create an environment in which his players trust the daily process and work hard to improve on and off the field every day. Coach Oare also strives to ensure that the student-athletes respect each other, their opponents, and the officials. In addition to his coaching duties, Coach Oare is also Highland's Middle School Athletic Director and its Assistant Athletic Director.

2010 – 2017: Varsity Boys’ Soccer Head Coach (VISAA Division 2 State Champions: 2010, 2015, 2016)
2010 – Present: Varsity Girls’ Soccer Head Coach (VISAA Division 2 State Champions: 2016, 2018, 2019)
2008 – 2009: JV Boys Basketball Head Coach 
2008 – 2011: Middle School Boys’ and Girls’ soccer and basketball
*Summer 2012 – 2014: Trainer with Fauquier County Soccer Club (FCSC)

Coach Oare has a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Mary Washington (2005) and a M.S. in Sports Management from Virginia Commonwealth University (2007). 

He grew up in Warrenton, VA and graduated from Highland in 2000. He currently lives in Warrenton, VA with his wife, Valerie Oare (Married in August 2007) and his sons, James and Noah.

Coach Ronnie Ross
Since his arrival in 2009, Ronnie Ross has served in a variety of coaching roles in Highland's Upper School. He has coached boys and girls at both the junior varsity and varsity level and has played a role in five state championship teams during his coaching career.

Coach Ross has B.A.'s in English and Philosophy from Wittenberg University (2009) and a M.S.Ed. in School Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania (2014).  While at Wittenberg, Ronnie played football.

He grew up in Tuscarawas County, Ohio and graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 2005.  While there, he played football, basketball, and baseball. He currently lives in Middleburg, VA with his wife, Josie Ross (a rock climbing coach) and his son, Ronnie IV.

Coach Brian Hooker

Celia C. Moore, M.S., ATC, VATL - Certified Athletic Trainer
Native of Warrenton, Ms. Moore has been an ATC for over 22 years since obtaining her Bachelors of Science of Exercise Physiology from West Virginia University. She received her athletic training education while serving as a Student Athletic Trainer for WVU before passing the National Board of Certification exam.  Upon certification, Ms. Moore became a Graduate Assistant for Clarion Hospital Athletic Medicine Program where she was the ATC for Clarion-Limestone Jr/Sr High School and attended Clarion University. She earned her Masters of Science in Rehabilitative Sciences from CU.

Before coming to Highland, Ms. Moore worked in Fairfax County Public Schools, Loudoun County Public Schools, Flint Hill School, Johnson & Johnson, Wakefield School and Fauquier County Public Schools. Ms. Moore was one of the first 200 ATCs in Virginia to obtain her state medical license. Beyond athletic training, Ms. Moore enjoys spending time with her family, leading her daughter's Girl Scout Troop, volunteering at church and operating her own small business.
