Awesome Outdoor Adventures

NOTE: You must bring your own mountain bike and helmet to camp for the mountain bike day. Also, please pack a lunch each day. 

Hiking, biking, canoeing, challenges, obstacles, fun and ADVENTURE!!! Come join us for five day- trips to various locations within a couple of hours of Warrenton to experience the great Virginia outdoors. We’ll hike in Shenandoah National Park, canoe at Leesylvania State Park, and mountain bike through Whitney State Forest. We’ll also do some get-to-know you activities, play team building and challenge games, and learn a few wilderness survival skills. We might even see a bear! As Helen Keller said, “Life is either a great adventure or nothing.” So, sign up now. The first thirteen people who sign up are in!

Community Service Camp

Make a difference in your community! Each day, Highland will partner with a local community organization to work on a hands-on project to help further the mission of the organization. Campers will also learn about the everyday work of the organizations we serve to understand the larger social issues they address. Past projects have included stocking shelves at the Fauquier Food Bank, assisting with activities at a senior day program, mentoring young people at the Boys and Girls Club, planting and gleaning food at the volunteer farm, and helping with projects at The Haven emergency shelter. Students will earn 17.5 hours toward the annual service requirement.

Raiders of the Lost Artifact

Learn the secrets of the greatest treasure hunter of all time! 

Attention Treasure Hunters!  We need your help to locate and preserve ancient artifacts from around the globe before they fall into the hands of evil doers of all kinds! This Indian Jones/Treasure Hunter themed camp week will sure to be the crown of our epic summer season featuring incredible games, drills, and arts and crafts. Decipher ancient texts, follow treasure maps, search abandoned temples, and avoid the deadly booby traps left to protect these priceless wonders of long forgotten civilizations. This globe trotting adventure filled camp will challenge your child both physically and mentally as we train both the body and the mind to be in top condition!

A Journey Through Time

Travel! Pioneer! Explore! Are you ready to jump through time and space and explore history through a unique lens? In this Time Travel camp week, we will build our own time machines and experience what life was like in the past and predict what it might be like in the future! Each day, campers will "travel" to different time periods in history, learn how to follow ancient maps and reenact historical events, while participating in games and sports from across the centuries. From dinosaurs to Ancient Egypt to the Wild West, there is so much to discover. Get ready for some turbulence as we travel at the speed of light!
