Capital Campaign Master Plan Benefits Thinking Green Make a Gift
Highland School

Q: What’s the difference between the Annual Fund and The Campaign for Highland?

Unlike the Annual Fund which support the school’s ongoing operating needs, the Campaign for Highland supports “bricks and mortar” projects and endowment, identified in the school’s long range plan. Gifts to the Campaign for Highland constitute an extra effort on the part of the donor, over and above an annual gift.

Q: What is the Annual Fund?

In order for Highland School to continue to provide a top quality program and outstanding faculty for our students, the school must rely on the Annual Fund. The Annual Fund supports and enhances every aspect of Highland School life from faculty salaries and benefits, financial aid and technology in the classroom, to supporting all areas of the school’s curricular and co-curricular programs.

Annual Fund Three Year Goal: $1,000,000

Q: What is the Building Fund?

Gifts to this fund support “bricks and mortar” projects identified by the Board of Trustees in the school’s Campus Master Plan. Under the auspices of the Campaign for Highland, the Building Fund will support construction of the new lower school building and gymnasium, as well as the upper school Technologies and Humanities wing, the renovation of athletic fields and the upgrading of the school’s infrastructure. Contributions to the Building Fund will typically be much larger than gifts to the Annual Fund and usually come from a donor’s accumulated assets. Gifts to the Building Fund constitute an extra effort on the part of the donor, over and above an annual gift.

Building Fund Goal: $13,000,000 Raised to Date: $ 10,600,000

Q: What is the Endowment Fund?

In addition to the $13,000,000 being sought for new construction, we are also seeking an additional $3,000,000 in endowment to offset the costs associated with operating an enhanced physical plant.

Endowment Fund Goal: $ 3,000,000 Raised to Date: $1,700,000
