Academics

Learning, No Boundaries
Technology
Our goal is to have a technology program that supports the School's Mission to provide students with the necessary skills and character to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century, as outlined by the International Society for Technology in Education which include:
- Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to learn;
- Collaboration, communication, and presentation;
- Critical thinking and problem solving;
- Media/information literacy, and research;
- Creativity and innovation;
- Digital citizenship and ethics; and
- Utilizing technology as a tool.
To fulfill this mission the School builds on its existing strength - the wide variety of computer classes taught- and further moves towards integrating technology into the classroom curriculum. Academic use of technology supports differentiated learning, aids students with learning disabilities, and enhances experiential learning modalities. The curriculum also focuses on bigger issues such as the role, implications, and effects of technology in society; as well as what knowledge and habits of mind are needed to most effectively function in a technologically advanced world. This two pronged approach dovetails into a rich educational experience for the students where the skills and concepts learned in the computer classes are applied to learning across the curriculum.
