Welcome to the Lower School

The Lower School at Highland provides an environment rich with opportunities for students to explore the possibilities that come with a quality, student-centered education. Designed to nurture and expand upon every child's innate curiosity, the Lower School is filled with fun exploration, confidence building performances and character building service to others. The program develops well-educated, confident, thoughtful and happy students through strong academics, enriched special area offerings, fine and performing arts opportunities and the act of giving through community service. Using best practices for teaching language arts, math, science and social studies, students thrive in an environment where they are supported and challenged by teachers who see them as unique individuals and who truly care about their success. The goal in the Lower School is to support and enrich the experience of each child as he or she moves through the program so that a feeling of self-worth and accomplishment is the certain outcome of time spent in the division.
