Student Testimonials

What I like most about Highland would have to be how supportive and kind the teachers are. If you are having trouble in a subject they will gladly help you after school on their own time.

Parent Testimonials

I would love to talk about how we were treated so sweetly with open arms always by Highland School. How eagerly our needs were met and how our daughter was treated with such respect. How she and our son were treated almost like celebrities being the new kids with special talents of their own.

- Parent of a 3rd and 8th grader

As a family, we believe that Highland is preparing our daughter for whatever her version of academic success will be but more importantly that in this learning environment she will test and discover who she needs to be and how she needs to feel and act in order to be her version of a successful person. A person who understands honesty, respect, responsibility, accountability and a person who can take on the challenges of life with confidence. We believe that at Highland she is learning that life is about how you handle the "misses," not what you do with the "hits."

Parents of Alumni Testimonials

Both our daughters graduated from Highland as lifers. When they graduated, they were well prepared for college. The transition into college went smoothly for both of them. Their experiences in and out of the classroom taught them to be confident and to have strong study skills, all of which helped them do well in college.

Good things come in small packages. That is the best way I can describe my daughter's experience at Highland. She attended Highland fourth - twelfth grades. Her father and I chose Highland for the well-rounded program the school offered. We were not disappointed. We saw her develop into a self-confidant and independent thinking young woman, thanks to Highland's extra-curricular programs and curriculums. Her class was small, and just when I thought I could not be amazed anymore, I was. With such a small population, the school produced high academic achievers, excellence in the arts, and excellence in athletics. Highland also prepared her for life beyond high school. The time-management skills she acquired at Highland served her well in her pursuit of her college degree. In her four years of college, she earned two degrees while at the same time playing club lacrosse all four years. The self-confidence she gained while at Highland has also served her well as she begins pursuing her career.

Highland provided both of our children with a solid academic background and excellent preparation for college. More importantly, they gained a larger sense of self and ability to realize ambition….fostered by a supportive teaching staff and accepting peer group.

Highland was so much more than just a school for our sons, it was their home away from home. Each began his schooling at Highland in Pre-K and enjoyed the benefits of a stable, safe and nurturing environment, a well-balanced program of the arts, academics and athletics and so many opportunities for leadership and service to the community. Highland re-enforced our home values and fostered in our sons a lifelong sense of good study habits and learning habits, which began from the moment they stepped on campus when they were just four years old.
