Our Faculty & Staff
The Highland School faculty has been chosen for their scholarly commitment, professional expertise, and enthusiasm for education. Teachers act as advisors, guiding students' academic and social progress and they serve as the primary link between parents and the School. Highland is committed to maintaining a highly qualified, diverse and collegial faculty.
Regular contact between faculty and parents is an essential element of the School's community spirit. Parents are encouraged to keep the faculty apprised of issues in the life of the student, and faculty members are expected to notify parents when a student's academic or behavioral performance changes.
Faculty members are also contributors to the community. Many members of the faculty perform community service and volunteer work, coordinate School volunteer programs and coach Highland School sports teams. Within their home communities, faculty members also play on or coach sports teams, work with professional organizations, attend religious services of their choice and sing in choral groups.
Over 100 men and women make up the Highland School administration and faculty; nearly 40 percent have graduate degrees. A transcript for each teacher is on file at Highland or with a professional organization.
