Leadership Studies Students Deliver 'This I Believe' Speeches
Posted 11/07/2016 11:08AM

Recently, five students and one teacher delivered this year's round of 'This I Believe' speeches to classmates, faculty, and family in The Rice Theater. The assembly is a project of Upper School students in Highland's Leadership Studies program and draws inspiration from a series of radio essays originally started in 1951 by Edward R. Murrow. True to the original radio essays, our speakers are asked to reflect on their lives, families, and interests and share something of themselves in their speeches.

Topics range from giving full effort in athletic and academic endeavors to reflecting on a friend's depression, to considering a life-long love of music. Check out the full video for all of this year's speeches.
